Description

From the set of tools belonging to and well-used by Frederick A Lee, master mason of Islesboro during the first half of the 20th century. See book "Summer Cottages of Islesboro" p. 119. This tool is to shape mortar between stones or bricks, to make either a concave or convex line of grout. This tool is 11.5" long, slightly S-shaped, e.g. the center 2" is angled. One 4" end is a straight grooving tool to smooth the mortar into a concave shape, the other 4" end, also a grooving tool, splays and makes possible a convex line.
