Description

From the set of tools belonging to and well-used by Frederick A Lee, master mason of Islesboro during the first half of the 20th century. See book "Summer Cottages of Islesboro" p. 119. This "paint brush" is 7.5" long, 1.75" wide, 3/4" thick, with wood handle, horsehair (?) bristles, which are bound to the handle by a 7/8" wide band of metal. It was certainly used for brushing mortar, perhaps to clean off bricks or stones
