Framed Masonic Certificate for Calvin W Sherman dated 1874. The certificate reads " Grand Lodge Maine. To all Regular Lodges, the WORSHIPFUL presiding and Past Masters thereof, Greeting. KNOW YE that the Members of Island Lodge situate in the town of Islesboro under our jurisdiction elected the bearer Bro. Calvin W Sherman, whose signature in the margin is written, their Worshipful Master Feb. 2d AD 1871. In which situation he faithfully discharged the duties opf his responsible office, and was an ornament to the Craft; and he is hereby recommended to the hospitality and protection of the Fraternity wheresoever dispersed.
