Frederick Davis during his illness in October, 1946 as a gift for the following Christmas. Mr. Davis died in October and this book was given to his widow. On July 8, 1967 it was returned to me by Leah Davis Merritt. Dena Snodgrass." On the following page, the inscription reads "To Fred From Deena. Best Christmas wishes, Dec. 25, 1946." Page opposite title page is the autograph of Dena Snodgrass and another signature that couldn't read. Compiled by The Committee on publications: Mrs. J. L.
