Scope and Content

This collection was given by Mellen C. Greeley to the Jacksonville Historical Society in 1976. It is a collection of scrapbooks, photographs, blueprints and ledgers produced by, or for, Mellen C. Greeley's architectural firm. 7/22/2020- NA2112.G7, Greeley scrapbook, acc 1194, gift of Greeley, 10/23/1981. No past perfect record was found. Noted shelflist now in archives. Found in 1959.101. 7/22/2020- One of Greeley photograph albums had been cataloged, F 319 .J1 G72, accession 403, gift 2/6/1975. Looked for item in Mitch's office but didn't find. Past perfect.526 deaccessioned. 09/28/2020- found in Room 202 S 105 (believe these are formerly NA 737 .G7 J3 but pulled apart and each residence in individual folder ;another box found 202 S 103.

"Florida Times-Union" and "Jacksonville Journal" articles detailing Mellen C. Greeley's life and architectual accomplishments in Jacksonville and the State of Florida. "An Appreciation of Lieut. M.C. Greeley" article printed in newspaper by the Duval County Guards to honor Mellen C Greeley's choice to join the U.S. military in a more active capacity. First page of a roster for the Duval County Guards dated 1918 Two newspaper articles. The first article, "Officers' Class Ends Six Weeks Intensive Work" discusses a class graduating from Camp Johnston. The second article, "Col. W. J. Austin, Head of Stevedore Units, Here" discusses Col. W.J. Austin's visit. Both articles dated August 6, 1918. Newspaper article, "Lieut. M.C. Greeley Presented with Wrist Watch by Co.
