Description

New Palace Theatre Designed by Roy Benjamin and opened in 1919 (Benjamin also designed the Imperial Theatre located to the right of the building in this photo). The Palace was originally built for S.A. Lynch of Asheville, NC and was apart of the Keith Vaudeville circuit (sign located to the left of the building). During the 1920s, the palace became a movie house. It had waining attendance due to the openeing of the Florida Theatre, but it survived until 1956 when it (and the Imperial) were demolished. A parking garage now sits on the location.
