From the book by Ronald Williamson, NAS Jacksonville, catalog number 2014.2.553, a description of this photo: A coast-to-coast radio broadcast was transmitted from the station on March 14, 1944. Bob Hope performed prior to the winging ceremony in front of personnel at the Naval Air Technical Training Center. During the ceremony, 150 airmen received their Wings of Gold.
