A book of black and white photographs with captions. Contents: Introduction -- Clippings from St. Petersburg Times, August 8, 1956, on Presley's performance -- Photographs including many pre-event and post-events in Jacksonville while performing at Florida State Theater, August 10, 11, 1956. Includes photographs of Juvenile Court Judge Marion W. Gooding in attendance and meeting with Elvis after 1st performance -- Bibliography. Jacksonville selections: Judge Gooding and company had never heard anything like it in their lives. And then Elvis waved at them as the girls shrieked louder (page 43) -- Mae Boren Axton hit upon idea that ended with song title Heartbreak Hotel (page 46) --pages 47-92 in Jacksonville. Back cover: For more than 30 years the photographs in this book lay locked and unseen in Jay B. Leviton's files because modesty prevented him from publishing them.
