Taylor's cartoon book by A. K. Taylor.
Introduction: "The generous reception of my work in Florida has prompted the publication of this book of 100 cartoons, judged by me to be my most amusing work since the great fire of May 3d, 1901, when the Metropolis files were destroyed, rendering the reproduction of prior pictures, in detail impossible. They are chalk plate creations, a process little used, and difficult of meritorious result." Also includes an extract from an article written by Mayor Nolan for the Metropolis, December 20th, 1902, and published under the heading "The Pleasures of Being a Mayoralty Candidate".
"To Charles E. Jones of the Metropolis staff, more than to any other source I am indebted for my early knowledge of Florida's peculiar politics. He has inspired me with subjects for many good cartoons. To him this book is sincerely dedicated. By the author."
Inserted in back of book is an original cartoon from the paper dated, Thursday, August 6, 1903 and one from Tuesday, August 11, 1903.
