Gildea Family History created by Florence Gildea Neil Gildea, great grandfather of Kim Marie Peters, was born in Ireland and resided in Jacksonville, Florida from 1891-1892. He boarded with the Owen Travers family at 105 Hogan Street and was a barkeeper. He married Mary Ivey at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Her grandfather was Ben Upton, of Baldwin, Florida. He was a lumberman and Mayor of Baldwin. Her mother was Elizabeth Jane Upton and her stepfather was Owen Travers. Owen was a manager at the Windsor Hotel, the Everett Bar and Billiards, and the West End Sample Rooms. After the Great Fire of 1901, Owen opened the Inn Hotel. Milton M. Ivey was also her great grandfather. He was employed by Alsop & Clark, Jacksonville, Florida before his death in 1884.
