Old city cemetery : Jacksonville, Florida by Mary-Louise Howard.
"Old City Cemetery, Jacksonville's principal cemetery from 1853-1880.. In the summer of 1852, thirty years after Jacksonville had become a city, Chalres Willey, a steamboat captain, donated four acres of land at Union and Washington Streets to be used as a cemetery. ...it seems probably that the place had at one time been used as an Indian burial ground. Section 6 was for Negro burials."
