A reprinting by Crawford press without revision of the 1968 ed. by Convention Press in 1973 is mistakenly referred to as 2d edition.
Since World War II, city-county consolidation has been achieved less than a half dozen times. This book is about the factors which led to the successful passage of city-county consolidation in Jacksonville and Duval County, Florida.

Appendices contain texts of enabling amendments to Florida constitution, Senate bill 1522 creating the Local Government Study Commission of Duval County with a list of members, investiture address for consolidated government by J.J. Daniel, and organizational charts of pre- and post-consolidation governments.
Includes bibliographical references at the end of each chapter.
