Evergreen Cemetery Association was organized in 1910 by a group of citizens of Jacksonville, Florida, for the purpose of establishing a cemetery to be owned and operated in perpetuity for the benefit of the people of this community.
Contents:Association including officers and Board of Trustees (Old Evergreen Cemetery which had been opened by a private corporation in 1881 was purchased by the Association, continues to be known as Evergreen Cemetery; in 1912, Woodlawn Cemetery was purchased and named West Evergreen) -- Perpetual Care Trust Fund -- Being developed on the park plan (purchase of lots; business office in room 308 of the Greenleaf & Crosby Building at the corner of Laura & Adams Street) -- Selection of a family memorial space (new Receiving Vault erected in 1927)
