Florida's first Black lawyers, volume 2 : 1980-1989 : Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter National Bar Association.
Includes indexes but no geographical index.
The Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter of the National Bar Association (VHFCNBA) is continuing efforts that began nearly nine years ago to chronicle the rich legacy of Florida’s first black lawyers. Florida’s First Black Lawyers: This sequel to “Florida’s First Black Lawyers (1869-1979)” features biographies and photos of those admitted to the Florida Bar between 1980 and 1989.
Aptly denoted as “trailblazers,” each person faced personal and professional challenges achieving their goals. Also during this period, an influx of
Caribbean lawyers were admitted to the Florida Bar.
These are the best of the best. They have found and explored new legal grounds and improved the state of society while trailblazing a trail for others to follow... by Judge June C. McKinney
