Beautiful as you are! by PeTika Tave. Illustrated by Vladimir Cebu, LLB.
Summary:This book aims to help girls learn self-acceptance, self-love, and self-worth. It provides inspiration for all kids to be happy with who they are, just the way they are. PeTika Tave is a middle-school teacher that suffered from low self-esteem as a child. Through her life's rollercoaster, stemming from chronic weight issues as far back as she can remember, Tave developed a desire to shield young girls from the perils she faced growing up "big and tall." Reaching 6ft and 300 lbs. by the age of 13, and 427 lbs. at the age of 22, life was hard, almost unbearable. After losing over 200 lbs. and having her second child, Tave decided to turn poems she wrote to her daughter into a book, designed to motivate girls, no matter their shape or size. Due to the success of that book, Tave expanded her audience to motivate and empower boys as well.Collection
