Tribute to Mrs. Theodore Hartridge, wife of Dr. Theodore Hartridge and mother of John Earle, L'Engle, Augustus, Leah Anne, Madison Livingston, Miss Sue Patti Hartridge, Daisy who died of yellow fever and Julian Hartridge. Tribute to the great grandmother of Leah Hartridge Davis Merritt and Parke Cabell Davis Jervis. After a space of approximately several lines, is the notation that W.B. Clarkson was father of Mrs. T. Frederick Davis (Annie Clarkson). This is a collection of newspaper clippings (some sources noted, some not identified) mostly on the death of Mrs. Susan Hartridge, wife of late Dr. Theodore Hartridge, who died March 22, 1910 in Jacksonville of heart disease. There are some clippings noting weather conditions from Times Union, March 23-24, 1910. In addition to the clippings pasted on various pages, there are multiple pages of a list of people who had some part in her funeral (List of floral offerings at funeral, March 22-24, 1910 -- Handwritten note from Martha Reid Chapter no.19, Jacksonville, Florida, United Daughters of the Confederacy). There is a loose newspaper clipping titled Old Hartridge property has changed hands, no date/source noted, bought by Raley & Hamby for $30,000. The house was erected immediately afer the fire of May 3, 1901. The Hartridge family has lived on the property since 1854. Of the newspaper sources noted, many are from the Metropolis, dating from March-May, 1910 or from Times Union March-April 1910. Bound in a maroon leather journal. Mrs. Susan Hartridge (1829-1910): One of the founders of the Daniel Memorial Orphanage and for 26 years its President. Also one of the founders of St. Luke's Hospital.
