Liberty was a weekly, general-interest magazine, subtitled, "A Weekly for Everybody." It was launched in 1924 by Colonel Robert Rutherford McCormick and Captain Joseph Medill Patterson, owners and editors of the Chicago Tribune and New York Daily News, respectively. In 1931, McCormick-Patterson sold the publication to Bernarr Macfadden. At one time it was said to be "the second greatest magazine in America," ranking behind The Saturday Evening Post in circulation. Holdings include five (5) issues - May 6, 1933, February 3, 1934, March 3, 1934, April 6, 1934, and June 2, 1934.
