The item is 3 pages, typewritten, on the letterhead of one James A. Austin, Broker. Available at JHS Archives Library vertical files area. For in-library reference use only. Summary: A first-hand recount of life in early Jacksonville, particularly downtown businesses and Riverside, and including the yellow fever and small pox epidemics. According to the 1932-1933 City Directory, James A. Austin is listed under the category of Brokers-Merchandise. The letterhead has the logo of Jax Food Brokers Association in the top left hand corner. H. C. Anthony is listed as a salesman in the same City Directory. The 1910 Census lists his occupation as salesman in the Wholesale Grocery industry.
