folder This is a file containing numerous newspaper clippings reflecting Janet Hogshead's life and accomplishments in Jacksonville. Available at JHS Archives Library vertical files area. For in-library reference use only. Janet aka Mutti Hogshead died on Feb. 14, 2023. She was an active community volunteer and activist. She started the "Impaired Physicians Program" by the American Medical Association, an alcohol and substance abuse program for physicians. Sally also was on the Board at Episcopal School of Jacksonville, as well as Planned Parenthood, and Girl Scouts of Gateway Council. She supported and volunteered with the San Marco Preservation Society. She was married to Howard Hogshead who was a medical doctor with a surgical specialty in ailments of the spine. Janet was mother to Nancy Hogshead Makar the1984 Olympic gold medal winner in swimming events & now lawyer, daughter Sally, and son, Andy.
