folder This is a Resolution of the JHS on the Death of Burton Barrs, dated November 11, 1959. A veteran of WW I, Burton Barrs was a lawyer practicing in Jacksonville when, in 1923, he was appointed by Governor Hardee to the Civil Court of Record of Duval County where he served for 36 years. Barrs was a charter member of JHS and served as President in 1932-33, and continued thereafter on the advisory board. He authored a booklet entitled "East Florida in the American Revolution". It is available at JHS Archives Library vertical files area. For in-library reference use only.
