Summary: George Chicken immigrated to the Carolinas by ca. 1690-1700 and died in 1726 in Goose Creek, South Carolina. His granddaughter, Catherine, was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Hestil. She was born in 1758 in St. James Parish, Santee, South Carolina, and died in 1823 in Florida Territory. She married Andrew Dewees in 1778 in Charlestown, South Carolina. She later married Robert McGirt in 1796 and later Edward Baker in 1799. Descendants and family members lived in South Carolina, Florida, and elsewhere.
