A reproduction of Philip Ayer Sawyer's sketchbook of boats and ships in Florida, created unter the WPA's Historic Merchant Marine Survey, or HAMMS. From April 1936 through October 1937 the Florida workers completed surveys of 50 vessels. This sketchbook documents with great detail Florida's maritime heritage from canoes, to sloops, to paddle wheel boats, to schooners, to tug boats and many more through drawings and text. Reprint in this volume as an extension of ARBA final report to Congress as directed by Public Law 93-179.
