No. 3- Starboard side of S.S. "Welcombe" showing where top part of bow of Cherokee extended over damaging the upperhouses, captain's quarters, and bridge deck space. The lower part of the bow of Cherokee hit almost directly behind the man that is standing back to causing indentation into plate of bow 15 inches extending considerable distance down the side of the vessel which caused No. 2 hold in engine room space to be flooded with water. This accident occured when the S.S. Cherokee collided in the afternoon of January 17th, 1936.Collection
