Description

No. 2- Bow of S.S. "Cherokee" damaged in collision with S.S. "Welcombe", January 17th, 1936, showing where lower part of bow crumpled up against the side of ship in collision and the upper part extending over it damaging the upperhouse of the Welcombe. The reason that this upper part of the bow was damaged in this peculiar way was due to the fact that the Welcombe was fully loaded and bound out to sea at time of collision. (Duplicate of MC14.2S45)
