Description

U.S. Dredge Dan. C. Kingman at Merrill-Stevens Dry-Dock & Repair Company dry docks. Built in 1924 by Sun Ship Inc., of Pennsylvania, the dredge was managed and used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1924-1954, when it was sold and renamed. The dredge was originally named for Lieut. Col. Dan Christie Kingman (1852-1916) who served the corps from 1913-1916.
