Confusion to the enemy: a biography of Edward Ball by Raymond K. Mason.
New York Times: Edward Ball, the chief trustee of the billion-dollar Alfred I. du Pont Testamentary Trust, died today (June 25, 1981) at the Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was 93 years old. Mr. Ball, of Jacksonville, Fla., entered the hospital April 16 for surgery to repair an abdominal aneurysm.
To provide revenue for the railroad, he and a partner founded the St. Joe Paper Company in 1936. Three years later, the company was earning nearly $250,000 a year. The Du Pont estate soon bought out Mr. Ball's partner. Alfred du Pont left his estate in the hands of three trustees including Mr. Ball.Collection
