Bibliography: p. 92. "In 1829, Martin Palmer (b. April 27, 1787 - d. December 2, 1857) moved from Edgefield, S.C. with his wife, Amelia Miles, his children, his slaves and all his possessions to Monticello, Florida. Among his numerous descendants there are 14 physicians. A United Daughters of the Confederacy, Chapter 2261, was organized in Jacksonville in August 1958 and named for Dr. Thomas M. Palmer, Confederate Surgeon." Includes many photos of the physicians, a lineage foldout chart,and membership applicants to several patriotic societies. On page 79 is an application form to membership in the D.A.R. by Mrs. Susan Archer Palmer Davis, Jacksonville, Florida.
