This soup tureen is among the presidential china group, 2001.025.001-.017. This soup tureen was used by the Monroes during the Monroe presidency. The soup tureen is trimmed with gold and includes two cursive gold "Ms" in a shield on the lid. The center of the tureen is decorated with an eagle and shield surrounded by stars. The set was likely made in France around 1817.Collection
