Gold-headed cane, tapered, octagonal halfway and round to bottom, polished wood. Metal tip on bottom. Inscribed on top of head "1775 Presented to Mrs. Lewis Washington and family, West Virginia, by Silas Hosmer and family, Concord, Massachusetts 1887". Inscribed around head "Made from the wood taken from the piers of the Old North Bridge at Concord Massachusetts Wherewas fired the first shot in the War of the Revolution Which gave Independence to the United States."Acquisition
