The Southern Cross of Honor issued to Colonel John T. Gibson shaped like Iron Cross with bar at top. On bar "COL. JOHN T. GIBSON, - A.N.V. - ". On Left arm of cross "UNITED". On top arm "DAUGHTERS". On right arm "CONFEDERACY". Bottom arm "TO THE U.C.V.". Center of cross has wreath around Confederate battle flag. Back has "SOUTHERN CROSS OF HONOR".
