Just sixteen months later, our country erupted in civil war. To mark this anniversary the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park , along with other partners, has gathered, scholars, independent historians, and laymen from across the country to participate in a multidisciplinary academic symposium. This symposium promises to stimulate new and diverse academic research, scholarship, and debate.
