Description

Bright brass colored two-part medal with red, white and blue ribbon attached. Top part of medal has a boat with rowers and a man at each end. Date below boat is "JULY 24, 1701". Below that is 'DETROIT 1914 AUG.31 SEPT, 5. Between the dates in a circle is an automobile. The medal hanging below that has a spread-winged eagle with flags on each side. In the center circle is "GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC VETERAN 1861 1866". Below that is 48TH NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT GAR".
