Large, heavy iron door from the Jefferson County Jail which was torn down in 1919. The building was constructed in 1872 by Holmes & Rust replacing the original structure, destroyed during the Civil War, where John Brown and six of his men were imprisoned during their trials until their execution. Six bars from top to bottom go through nine heavy flat cross bars.Acquisition
