Description

Black beaver top hat or stove-pipe hat. Brown cloth band sewn around hat. Inside is a cardboard insert for retaining the shape of the hat. Also stitched on the inside front of the hat is a piece of cardboard which acts as a makeshift sweatband. An eagle is embossed on the inside top of the hat. The eagle is standing on what looks like an elaborate picture frame with a gold label in the center. The label is an iron cross with an "N" in the center. A half-wreath is at the bottom of the iron cross. Below the wreath is "Rene Gausseran PARIS".
