Built on Washington Street in 1912 as Harpers Ferry High School for white students; in 1930 renamed Harpers Ferry Graded School; in 1968 renamed C. W. Shipley Elementary School in honor of Charles Waldron Shipley long-time principal of the school; closed in 1971; purchased by the National Park Service in 1993.
