Scope and Content

Day book of J. F. Smith, Middleway, from April 12, 1852, to April 24, 1854, is a chronological accounting of sales made to many different customers named in the ledger. At the top of several pages near the beginning of the ledger is handwritten Middleway, along with the date. J.F. Smith and 1852 are handwritten on the front leather cover. DAY BOOK is debossed on the spine. The numbers 52, 53, 54 are handwritten below the debossing.
