Cat. #1131a is bronze colored Air Medal with lapel pin and ribbon for uniform. Medal is a round star burst shape with an eagle in downward to the left flight, clutching lightning bolts in each claw. Ribbon above medal has ribbon above with blue and orange stripes. Lapel pin and uniform ribbon have same blue and orange stripes. Cat. #1131b is certificate and citation for the Air Medal awarded to Colonel Virgil W. Lloyd. Citation reads in part "CITATION TO ACCOMPANY THE AWARD OF THE AIR MEDAL TO VIRGIL W. LLOYD Colonel Virgil W. Lloyd distinguished himself by meritorious achievement while participating in sustained aerial flight as a C-130 Pilot, 167 Airlift Group, Rhein Main Air Base, Germany, from 22 September 1992 to 8 February 1994. -------Operation PROVIDE PROMISE---------Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina---------------". Certificate reads in part "THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA-------HAS AWARDED THE AIR MEDAL TO COLONEL VIRGIL W. LLOYD FOR MERITORIOUS ACHIEVEMENT-------". Signed by the Director, Air National Guard. Cat. #1131C is blue plastic folder for certificate and citation. Round seal of the Department of the Air Force is on front cover. Cat. #1131D is dark blue box holding medal. On outside of box is "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA".
