Description

Sunburst pattern cotton and muslin quilt. Turkey red cottons and white cottons were used for pattern; 2.5" border of turkey red. 18 - 16.5" circular pieced blocks with a sunburst design; 4 - 9" smaller sunbursts in between large circles. Backing is three segments of muslin. Finished by lapping border narrowly over backing. Low loft cotton batting. Quilting is dense with 6-7 stitches per inch. Quilting pattern is to the shape in the sunbursts; .25" parallel lines; diagonals 1/16 apart; feathered wreaths, small sunbursts, and small flowers.
