ARC600Scope and Content
The Marmion Collection consists of a ledger and seven documents created by members of the Marmion family of Harpers Ferry between 1844 and 1893. As an assistant surgeon on the U.S.S. Cyane in the North Squadron of the Pacific Fleet from September 1869 until August 1871, Robert A. Marmion kept a Prescription Book, a ledger that was later used for household and other recordkeeping.
The seven miscellaneous documents include a house lease document, a deed of bill and sale, a workman's note of work delay; U.S. Civil War military guards pass; land lease for cattle and horses; an I.O.U.; and an account record for prescriptions and medicine.
A finding aid is attached in Media.
