Typewritten carbon copy of a biography of David English Henderson, a portrait and landscape painter, by Esta Burton Hilleary for the Jefferson County Historical Society, March 29, 1940. Henderson was born in Halltown in 1832, studied art in Georgetown and New York, served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War, and lived and painted in Jefferson County after the war until his death in 1887.
