Scope and Content

3 brown leatherette albums of photos and programs for Jefferson County music festivals produced by county music teacher Dorothy W. Conklyn: (1) contains 2 copies of music festival program dated May 18, 1950 and twenty 8" x 10" black & white photographs of students participating in music festival held at the former American Legion Athletic field. Second photograph shows Dorothy Conklyn directing the festival. Eighth photograph includes John Pestun and what probably is the Charles Town High School band. Ninth photograph identifies Joyce Ann Jenkins, Wyn Wicksell, Sandra Rockenbaugh, and Sammy MacMichael. Paper library label taped to lower edge of spine: "LR 050 F'. (2) contains 2 newspaper clippings from unidentified newspapers, but one probably is the Martinsburg Journal. Scotch-taped to first white page is one page of music festival program dated May 19, 1949. Also contains nineteen 8" x 10" black & white photographs of students participating in music festival held at former American Legion Athletic field. Exterior of front cover has return address label pasted along upper edge: "Owen W. Conklyn PO Box 53 Charles Town WV 25414". Also has paper library label taped to lower edge of spine: "LR 050 F". (3) contains two music festival program dated June 5, 1947, one Elementary School May Festival program dated May 18, 1948, and three newspaper clippings cut from unidentified newspapers. Also contains fifteen 8" x 10" black & white photographs of students participating in music festival held at former American Legion Athletic field (one sleeve contains three photographs) and one 8" x 10" black & white photograph of the Charles Town High School Glee Club of 1946-47. Also has paper library label taped to lower edge of spine: "LR 050 F".
