Black and white, unpublished 16-millimeter film of centennial parade in Charles Town, WV, June 1, 1963, commemorating WV centennial. Film was produced by Mayor Nicholas Carson and photography was by Earl Hardesty. Parade consisted of local school bands (Charles Town High School, Martinsburg Junior High, etc.), Kiwanis Club float with the "Rock" (that later was placed in front of the Jeff. Co. Court House), cars with local beauty queens and local dignitaries, horses, CHS Band Boosters float, Ranson Civic Club float, antique cars, Citizens Fire Co. truck, Independent Fire Co. Rescue Squad, etc. Buildings in the background include the building that now is Charles Town City Hall (formerly bank building), Charles Town Post Office, and Jefferson County Court House.
In 2017, the film was transferred to DVD. DVD is stored at SR2/SU2/S5/B4.Acquisition
