Old Kearneysville post office is a privately owned building in 2020. The first Kearneysville Post Office was established March 22, 1840. Service was discontinued April 8, 1864 and reestablished July 7, 1865. During reconstruction in 1870 the post office was listed as being in "Averell Township".
