Halltown Post Office in 2020. The first Halltown Post Office was established on October 26, 1836. Myrna C. Bowers, appointed acting postmaster on April 3, 1962 and postmaster on April 15, 1962, served nearly 37 years in Halltown until her retirement in 1999. Her distinguished career was longer than any other woman in Jefferson County (page 26, Magazine of the Jefferson County Historical Society, December 2001). Stored as a JPEG
