Trinity Episcopal Church, Shepherdstown, West Virginia. During the Civil War, the Trinity Episcopal Church at Shepherdstown, W. Va., was used as a hospital for the Confederate soldiers wounded in battle. It was common practice during the war for the armies to convert churches into hospitals, barracks or stables. Services are still conducted in this historic church.
