Copies of three architectural drawings created by Archie W. Franzen, who was the architect at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park during the 1960s and early 1970s; facsimile signature in lower left corner of each drawing: "A W Franzen '70". Drawings were created to show the appearance of the town during the 1859-1865 period in preparation for restoring the buildings for the park's living history interpretations.
(1) Drawing depicts the privy, the Stagecoach Inn (built 1826), the Philip Coons Building (built 1845), the McCabe-Marmion Building (built 1845), space for two buildings (appearance unknown), the William Richards Building (built 1824-1825), the Edward Tearney Building (built 1844), the Fayette J. Conrad Building (built 1832, razed 1921), and High Street.
(2) Drawing depicts High Street, the Ann C. Stephenson Building (built 1838-39), the William Anderson Building (built 1838-39), the John C. Unseld Building (built 1846-47), the Gerard Bond Wager Building (built 1837-38), Potomac Street, Armory Engine House - "John Brown's Fort" (built 1847-48), and Armory Fence and Gate (built 1849-55).
(3) Drawing depicts the New Master Armorer's House (built 1858), the Old Master Armorer's House (built 1818 + built 1827), and the Hood Buffer Building (built circa 1870).Acquisition
