Description

Gray fedora hat, made by Lee, Fifth Avenue, with Lee, Fifth Avenue hat box. 2312a: Gray fedora hat with black band. Made by Lee, Fifth Avenue. Along inside sweatband of hat is "THE KASTLE, CHARLES TOWN, W. VA." and "Warren" and "LEE, WATER BLOC, FIFTH-AVENUE" and "DU PONT, WATER REPELLENT, SHAPE RETAINING." Logo on inner liner that shows two laurels to the left and right of the words "Lee, WATER-BLOC, FIFTH AVENUE" and a crown above. Plastic lining covering inner cloth lining. Sold at Kastle's Men Shop, located at 219 West Washington Street, Charles Town, W. Va., and in operation from 1948 to 1983. The hat belonged to Jim Viands. 2312b: Maroon, rectangular Lee, Fifth Avenue hat box.
