IMG3908096: Money Tree on Charles Town Pike, early 1900s. A Union paymaster was imprisoned when he claimed he was robbed of a large payroll by Mosby's men. After he was released some years later, residents found a vacated hole dug at the foot of the tree with loose silver coins on the ground around it, located near the Duffields train station where the paymaster was stationed. The tree was destroyed by lighting in the 1930s.
