Ruins of St. George's Chapel, Charles Town, West Virginia: St. George's Chapel was the first church erected west of the Blue Ridge Mountains. No record has ever been found of the exact date of its erection, owing to the fact that it was part of Norborne Parish, England. The original furnishings were brought from England.
