Dynamite truck explosion near Halltown on February 1, 1951. View is looking southwest along Route 340 just east of Halltown. A crater eight feet deep resulted when 15 tons of dynamite exploded on a truck operated by Rude Carrier. The truck caught fire when a tire chain broke striking a spark which ignited the truck's fuel tank. The truck's engine is visible in the foreground lying in the roadway.
